California, USA
July 2022
California is a state that needs no introduction - from Hollywood to Silicon Valley, its landmarks and attractions are known worldwide. However, my recent trip to California took me beyond the typical tourist hotspots, as I embarked on a road trip that allowed me to discover some of the state's most stunning natural wonders freely.
My journey started in San Francisco, where I spent a few days exploring the city's iconic landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, and Alcatraz Island. After soaking in the city's unique culture, we rented a van and hit the road, starting with Yosemite National Park, home to some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the country. From there, we drove to Sequoia National Park, where the giant trees were truly awe-inspiring. Next up was Joshua Tree National Park, known for its unique rock formations and desert landscape. After exploring the park, we continued south to San Diego, where we soaked up the sun on the city's famous beaches.
Another highlight of the trip was driving along the Big Sur coastline, one of the most stunning stretches of road in the world. The rugged coastline, dramatic cliffs, wildlife and sparkling blue water made for an unforgettable experience. From charming seaside towns to rugged wilderness areas, California truly has it all, and this trip is a testament to that.
